Question: How do I know if my electrical system is grounded properly?
Answer: First if you have an outlet tester plug it in if grounded it will read correct. If not, turn off the power at breaker panel. Remove the outlet from the wall. It will have three different colored terminal screws: brass screws for black (hot) wires, silver screws for white (neutral) wires, and a green screw for the ground wire. The green terminal screw should be connected either to a bare wire or to a metal electrical box. Question: How do I get my outdoor outlets working?
Answer: Your outdoor outlets should be powered by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter via GFCI receptacle or breaker. First unplug and check to see if all cords you are using are good. Then go to breaker panel and see if it is powered by GFCI breaker. Breaker will have test button and be marked ground fault circuit Interrupter. Reset breaker. If no GFCI breaker, find location of GFCI receptacle it will most likely be outdoors or in garage and push reset button. If GFCI receptacle or breaker won’t reset it could be faulty. Question:How do I remove the metal base when the light bulb breaks off in the socket?
Answer:Make sure all power is turned off. Then roll up some cardboard or news paper and use it to twist it out or place the base of a new bulb in the broken one and twist it out. Answer:First you need to unplug all appliances on the circuit. Then go to the breaker panel and see if the breaker will reset. If it resets plug-in your appliances, one at a time, and find the item that is tripping the breaker. Question: How do I change a three way switch?
Answer:First turn off all power to switch when you’ve made sure all power is off, remove
three way switch from wall. It will have two brass terminals and one dark bronze or black terminal the dark terminal is the common lead. The two brass terminals are the travel leads it is important to identify the common lead wire of the old switch and to connect that wire to the dark bronze or black terminal of the new switch.
